The Desert Biome is found in the south-east corner of the Navezgane map. It's an immense terrain completely covered in Sand and where many Saguaros are present. This biome only has Rabbits as living creatures and water is very scarce. The terrain usually forms a lot of cliffs. Unlike other biomes, the first 20 or so blocks past the sand layer consist of sandstone, rather than stone. This makes starting a game in a desert difficult, as all but the earliest items and construction materials require the forge, which in turn requires stone to create. It also makes mining difficult, as ores do not spawn in sandstone.
It's a very good place to survive since you can obtain food resources such as the Yucca Fruit from Saguaros (tall cactus) and Yucca Juice from Yucca Plants. A lot of Desert Shrubs, pr**kly Pears, Brown Grass and Aged Wood can be found as well. It's also a very good place if one wants to create medical resources, since Aloe Plants are plentiful and can be used to create Aloe Cream or Bandages.
There are also plenty of small scrapyards where many destroyed cars can be found among the saguaros, as well as dead people and Corpses. Bags such as the Duffel Bag seem to spawn more often in large groups of saguaros also.
The Desert, nonetheless, is a very dangerous place at night because of the amount of fog present at that time, and due to the tendency to run into damaging cacti in the dark.
Points of Interest
Even though deserts are popular for being huge isolated places, there's a lot of possibilites to find locations and buildings in the desert next to roads or in the wilderness. There are many Gas Stations in this Biome. It's very common to find abandoned Campsites, water towers and barns as well. If the player follows roads they might be able to find Ghost Towns. These towns are "Wild Wild West" themed and are completely overrun by zombies, but still they're very good places to loot. There are possibilities for the player to be able to find shops such as Gun Stores.
