7 Days to Die Cheat Protection
This function introduces a simple 'A.I.' (artificial intelligence) with the 7 Days to Die Cloud Based Server Manager (CBSM) in order to identify if a player has cheated.
Upon detection, it is proactive and bans the offending player, without manual moderator effort.
The Anti-Cheat A.I. will typically target users who join your server with the intent of causing havoc / grief, and damage to player creations.
When a user is banned by the Anti-Cheat A.I., it will become listed in the server ban list, and can be easily revoked.
It will also display an in-game alert, with the Anti-Cheat A.I. has removed a player. The reason, will only be visible to admins, within the ban list, however.
The time you choose for the 'Early-Detection' time, should be less than the time required to obtain an notable supply of items such as RPGs / TNT / Ammo.
A recommended configuration is 20 - 40 minutes.
Warning: This function can have false-positives, depending on your server play-style and configuration.
In order to best manage this, ensure the configurable 'Early-Detection' time is suitable for your server. This will disable the primary checks, which are most susceptible to false-positives.
The Anti-Cheat function current relies on some elements of the Map Feature. To use the Anti-Cheat system, you must ensure your map is properly configured.
If the map is not setup, or not working correctly, please do not enable the Anti-Cheat for your server.
You can manage within the Behaviour and Anti-Cheats configuration page.
7 Days to Die Steam Family Share Ban Protection
This setting prevents the ability to circumvent in-game bans, using Steam's family sharing function.
When you enable the Steam Family Share Ban Protection, your ban's will automatically effect all players who are using the same game license.
Without this setting enabled, it is possible for a banned player to regain access to your server.
For many servers this also has additional anti-grief properties.
If Player A has a dispute with Player B, they could join as Player C using this exploit to hide their identity, and grief player B, without risk of being banned from the server.
With this setting enabled, a ban on Player C, will also affect Player A (same-user).
